The majority of my career has been spent coaching in the college sector. I worked at several universities including UCLA, University of the Pacific, University of Colorado, and the University of Kentucky. Over the course of 12 years, I was able to coach collegiate and professional athletes across the country. I really enjoyed my time working with young adults because I strived to contribute to more than just their physical improvements.  I wanted to support my athletes, build relationships with them and also help them grow personally.

When I decided to move out of the college coaching world I wanted to take those relationship building skills and apply them to my clientele.  When working to improve performance, my philosophy is to address five main factors. These factors all contribute to “High Performance”.

All of my training plans are designed from research based methods that are periodized according on your competitive calendar. They are also designed using your data received from your DNA test results.
Just like training, being able to follow a nutrition plan takes skills. My approach uses a curriculum that gives you the skills needed to follow nutrition plans and see the best results. Your nutrition plan is also refined by using your DNA results that let me know what and how your body uses fuel best.
Improving performance is not just about how hard you train, but also how hard you recover. Having an intelligent plan in place to help you recover from training and riding schedule is critical for you to see results.
Sports psychology plays a big role in performance. One of the ways I help improve your mental health is by using technology, like HeadSpace, to help teach you to focus, relax, and meditate. This has been shown to improve confidence, reduce stress, and as a result, improve performance.
For some athletes, this is the biggest barrier to overcome. Whether its a very busy work schedule that doesn’t allow room for training, traveling, etc, if your lifestyle is not set up correctly, your results will not be optimal. Some barriers are not going to change, for example your work schedule, but I work with your schedule to fit in a training and nutrition program that fits in your life without disrupting things too much. Having flexibility and a game plan to work together makes all the difference in the world when it comes to performance training.
